2024 is here, yay! This year is an even number. I’m ready and prepared to conquer the next 12 months with that energy. The monthly challenge for December was to create a list of goals for the new year, so I hope you all are ready to begin your journey.
As I reflect on 2023, the year started off rough with the loss of my grandmother just after its start. In my family we had five generations with her alive and losing her was hard on us all. With this, I thought the year was going to be a complete failure because I was hurting. But many of us know, with grief it gets easier as the days go by.
As spring came in, I took the chance to start this blog that I continue to learn the process each day. Also, I celebrated one year of marriage, which is a milestone in today’s time. The road to getting there was work when you merge two completely different lifestyles together. We continue to work each day to grow and change for the better by getting the kinks out.
As the summer came through, the warmer weather made me happier as being outdoors is pleasurable. We went on vacation to Costa Rica for the first time, and although we got the week of unexpected rain showers, we still enjoyed ourselves and made the dark days brighter by doing ATV and horseback riding in the mountains along with some other activities.
As the fall came, more family time happened as we celebrated my grandmother’s first birthday away from her present form, Thanksgiving, and a day to spend more intimate time with my husband’s siblings for the first time.
As winter is now here, my favorite time of Christmas came through and went so fast, but as usual time spent with family was great. I had a week off from work and saw big screen movies such as ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom‘ and ‘The Color Purple,’ small screen Christmas Movies I missed ‘Yes, Chef! Christmas’ , got my second massage which was my last goal to meet for the year, and now we are here in 2024.
Being able to sit back and reflect on life’s past can be scary sometimes, but in the end it’s the bravest thing you can do to continue to move forward. The life we have on this Earth is limited and living each day is important. So, set your intentions moving forward as presented in the new monthly challenge. I hope you invite the new year in with open arms and have a great 2024!
