I like to travel but of the places I’ve been I usually go multiple times. I am now making it my new goal to go to places I have yet to go to within the United States and internationally; first up was Dallas, Texas. I stayed there for 5 nights, and it is a city similar to most as they have a metro system and areas where you can walk without the need for a car. So below I will highlight the place I stayed and some of the things I did during my visit.
Located in the Business District of Dallas, this hotel stay was nice and quiet. There’s a Starbucks on the ground floor, a small restaurant in the lobby area, and an outside pool (I didn’t get a chance to enjoy this) which is simple if it’s your plan to explore rather than be inside. The plus of this location is it was a few short blocks away from the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) to get around as well as the Perot Museum of Nature and Science.
Things to Do
City Pass: An easy way to visit different venues and save money as you get to select 4 of 5 locations offered. The two places that were required with the pass were the Perot Museum of Nature & Science and the Reunion Tower Geo-Deck which gave you views of the city from high up. The other choices I chose was the Dallas Zoo (which with the many Zoo locations I’ve been I never saw animals mating until this time and I saw two different ones) and the George W. Bush Presidential Museum (he wasn’t the most popular president, but they did a good job in capturing his time as president). The other option that I didn’t choose and will get to next time is the Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum.
Sightseeing with Fun Dallas Tours: A beautiful tour that I took on my last full day of stay in the city but should have gone on for my first day. The tour guide was great; not a native Texan but one who lived there for about 20 years and gave great history of the city.

The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealy Plaza: A good museum to see about the Presidency of John F. Kennedy and his tragic assassination in Dallas along the same road this museum is located as it is the building where it was believed the gunman was during this time.
Places to Eat
Terry Black‘s BBQ (a little expensive)
Sammie’s Bar-B-Q (only open for lunch)
Getting Around
Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART): Clean but similar to NYC transit in that there may be homeless people on the trains but cheaper in that with a $6 pass you can ride for 24 hours.
Uber/Lyft (Only when getting to the George W. Bush Presidential Museum as it was not near a DART stop)
Maybe when I finish the 2 other trips I have planned for the next 2 years I will visit Dallas if I’m still alive.
Enjoy your vacations until it’s time for Dallas
