As humans, we have many responsibilities in our day-to-day life. The art of balancing one’s time is something we all should be aware of. Ask yourself the question…
Are you frequently checking the amount of energy you put into each area of your life?
There are many times that you may use more of your time and energy to nurture the areas that are not as important to you.
Many of us who are working find ourselves at a crossroad. You put so much time into completing your job duties, you leave little room for those you love or the activities you love. Even the time and energy we should put towards our personal needs gets compromised. Have you ever held off going to the doctor because you didn’t want to take time off from work?
There are many times you give all you have to your family and friends. This leaves very little for yourself. A breaking point can take place one day and can lead to more long-term effects on your mental health.
There may be a time where you find yourself on social media for hours taking away time that could be spent outside getting fresh air.
The time is now to check yourself and try to balance your time and energy better. I hate to hear stories where someone passes away and they didn’t get to create a balanced life. They didn’t get to retire to travel the world like they wanted. Never went to visit their family who moved away 10 years ago. They worked so much overtime and they missed their child’s sporting championship.
If you need to set timers daily to control how much time you devote to each task, do it. If you need that friend to hold you accountable, do it. Just make sure you write down all that takes up space in your day and do your best to divide your energy accordingly. We only have one life to live, so use it wisely.
You are so right, we only have one life to live so live it to the fullest. Enjoy yourself and take time for vacation you earned it by working all your life.
