The Power in Moving Forward

Posted on October 25, 2024October 25, 2024 by Virtual Afro Woman

How many of you can say you are the same person you were 20 years ago or even 5 years ago? How many of you acknowledge the bad things that have happened in your life but choose moving forward? Our life has ups and downs. It’s how one person overcomes something that matters most. If you are someone who has overcome anything, you should be proud of yourself. Never let someone take the joy of this progress away from you.

The one thing that has never happened to me and most of you is being falsely imprisoned. This past week it was reported that the Exonerated Five are suing former President Donald Trump. He made a statement at a rally in September that was filled with false information. He stated, “the men pled guilty to the rape and assault and that the victim later died” in the 1989 case. What happened was the opposite. The men who were teenagers at the time pled not guilty and the victim did not succumb to this harsh attack. Over the years we have heard the story of the Exonerated Five formally known as the “Central Park Five.” We even watched the mini-series, “When They See Us” that depicted their false imprisonment. It was a horrible situation, and it’s something these men are still dealing with as they continue to move forward years later.

I’ve had a personal motto for many years now for my connections with other people. If something bad happens within our relationship, I’m willing to give them chances. If it happens once, or even twice okay. But a third time and it’s a wrap. I don’t wish bad upon them, but I just can’t allow that continued negative energy in my life until a major change happens. Sometimes you must release people for them to heal. If this is their personal wish to make change, it will happen for them when they give it this energy. For anyone dealing and healing as we go into this cold season the time is now to speak your peace and to move forward.

  • Never let someone change the narrative of your past to hurt you.
  • Don’t allow someone’s opinion to control your journey of greatness.
  • You are in control of the energy you allow into your life.
  • Accept your past and allow it to be a lesson in your future.
  • Keep working on your goals, but if needed make the necessary adjustments to get there.
  • ‘Breathe;’ allow the positive thoughts to consume you and kick the negative thoughts to the side.

The power in moving forward in life is a great thing. If there’s anyone attempting to disrupt your life in a bad way, be strategic, and allow the universe to get them for you. Because in the end, karma is very powerful.
