The Laughter You Need and Didn’t Know

Posted on November 13, 2024November 12, 2024 by Virtual Afro Woman

Love is a beautiful thing and develops within different relationships. There’s love between a parent and child. Love between spouses. There’s love between friends. And there’s love between you and a host of other family members. The relationships we have can be very precious and it’s good to nurture it. ‘Tis the season of gathering and I think laughs should be at the forefront of it all. There’s a lot of negative stress going on in the outside world. Laughter is necessary. Many of us spend increased time online. There’s a mix of good and bad videos and information out there on the internet. When you come across the good ones that brings laughs and shows the love between people, it’s beautiful and I tend to crave more of it.

I don’t subscribe to everyone’s page/podcasts, but there’s a new one that I have been enjoying most. The podcast, “We Don’t Always Agree” is that of the actor Sterling K. Brown and actress Ryan Michelle Bathe. If you didn’t know already, they are married. Their podcast is filled with many laughs even with more serious topics. The love they have for one another is apparent even when they disagree.

Another podcast I get laughs from is the podcast, “Tea Time w/ Raven-Symone and Miranda.” Again, I see the love and the relationship they have together as well as the genuine friendships they have with some of their guests.

I don’t have children, but the “Mama’s Den” podcast is another great option. It displays sisterhood in relation to motherhood. It’s an extension of the Black Love docuseries that I used to enjoy watching. In the podcast you have women from different walks of life who come together to discuss their different journeys in motherhood with lots of laughs even with the more serious topics.

Now Keke Palmer is a great actress who has transitioned from childhood into adulthood very well. She has a podcast titled, “Baby, This Is Keke Palmer.” She interviews many celebrity friends, but she also has a segment with her mother. The relationship dynamic between her and her mother is very loving and filled with laughter. As she transitions into conversations with her guest the questions are great and filled with substance, but in true Keke fashions, she brings laughs the interview as well.

Lastly, there’s Tabitha Brown’s “Fridays w/ Tab and Chance.” The relationship between Tabitha and Chance has been documented for a few years now. They always support each other, and they tend to surround themselves with like-minded people. I don’t know if it’s Tabitha’s southern charm, but her voice brings joy automatically.

So, in this season of gathering, I choose to promote the energy of more laughter. We have these great podcasts at our fingertips and I wish to see more of them like this in the future. Until then, I will support the ones above. Happy Wednesday, may your day be filled with joy and laughter!
