For those of you who are basketball fans, you may have heard the New York Knicks have made it to the semifinals of the eastern conference. In this city, we have gone so long with a Knicks team that have fallen short of this victory. Now with this step, it just shows how determination pays off. When you believe in someone/something they will make you proud in the end.
Most people go through moments of being up and other times being down. Nothing in life comes easy but continuing to believe in yourself and your abilities is something we must always remember. When you put in the work you will eventually get to accomplish what you set out to do. I think back to when I was a child and drew a picture of what I wanted to be when I got older. With me always being different, I had three choices, a nurse, artist, and teacher. There have been some twists and turns. But in the end, I have achieved them all in a modified way. As an Occupational Therapist and with my new sewing business creating various items.
So, when you are working towards your goals, what are some ways to stay motivated and not give up?
- Set up smaller goals to meet that moves you closer to the larger goal.
- Create a scheduled time each day/week in which you will work towards your goal.
- Get support as needed.
- Celebrate achieving your smaller goals as they are met.
- Repeat with new goals as needed.
Over the years, many New Yorkers have chosen other teams over the New York Knicks. Especially the teams that dominate most seasons. For myself, I enjoy watching other teams and players, but as a loyal New Yorker, I always root for them. The team owners have gone through many coaches and many different combinations of players. But right now, they have found the one to get them closer to their goal. What they have accomplished right now is to be applauded. My wish for them is to make it to the finals and my wish for you is to never give up on your dreams. Continue to work hard, and then start spreading the news because you got it in you to accomplish all your goals.
