Smile, Say Cheese!!!

Posted on April 15, 2024April 14, 2024 by Virtual Afro Woman

There were many sad events in entertainment that happened this past week. We lost DJ Mister Cee, here in NYC. Atlanta lost a legendary producer with Rico Wade. And America lost someone we can’t confirm or deny committed a crime in the 90’s with the death of OJ Simpson. Life has so many unexpected events that take place, but one thing we can control is our smile. There may be good or bad things that are currently happening in your life and in the world right now. But a small smile can help get you through. I smile when I wake up to see another day and spread our glory around the world.

Studies have shown that a smile has many health benefits…

Have you ever thought about a past event that was funny and brought a smile to your face? How did you feel after? I’m sure you were slightly happier than you did minutes before. That’s because a smile can elevate your mood. The hormones Dopamine and Serotonin are released with each smile and act as a mood stabilizer. Many people are dealing with depressive thoughts that can decrease their smile. If you feel this way, please seek out help because your smile is needed in this world.

Have your ever felt tired and your body ached? But you promised your friend that you would go out to karaoke? When that music hits your soul. When you start singing along to a song such as “Run the World” by Beyonce. That sleepiness and body aches are gone until you get back home and hit your bed.

Have you ever had a stressful day at work because of your boss? Then you had a thought of what would happen if you had a cake and threw it in their face. I’m sure there was a better example, but no violence here. I know a smile came on your face after. I’m sure it made your stress levels go down as you made it to the end of the workday.

So, as you can see smiling has many benefits. It’s up to you to try to include it in your life. If you’re having bad day, be more conscious of your thoughts and the energy you want in your life daily. Tomorrow is not promised to any of us. If you want to live your best life, SMILE!
