Passion Fruit

Posted on October 9, 2023October 8, 2023 by Virtual Afro Woman

What are you passionate about?

Is it what you are currently pursuing or something else?

Being passionate about something is not always the path one goes down career wise but there is opportunity for one to still work on it.

It is now the fall season, and more time will be spent indoors as the weather gets cooler in many places. Now is the time to discover what makes you happy to counterbalance the everyday grind.

How can you discover your passion(s) if you haven’t done so already?

Think of what brings a smile to your face?

What makes you feel relaxed with little to no stress when you’re engaged?

What makes you feel a sense of purpose?

These passions can fall into different categories that don’t always mean being creative.

Below you will find some activities that fall into these categories. Go through the list and check off what fits into your idea of passions.

 Walking/Jogging Traveling
 Exercise Participating in local elections
Volunteering at Hospital Participating in campaigns for politicians
Volunteering at a nonprofit organization Meditation
 Gaming Getting massages
 Fashion Going to the spa
Spend quality time with your family/friends Getting enough sleep
 Donating to a cause Reading
 Community clean up Healthy eating
 Writing Mental Health Awareness
 Music Photography
 Dance Online Content creation
 Art Education
 Gardening Sewing/Knitting
 Watching TV Cooking

Next, it’s about holding yourself accountable for continued engagement in these passions and allowing yourself to feel balanced and centered in your day-to-day life.

    So, what can you do?

  • Create a Schedule: make sure you allot a set time each week or even each day to engage in your passions. Set reminders in your phone or put on your calendar.
  • Create your Goal List: what is your purpose for pursuing this passion? By writing your short term and long terms goals you allow yourself to create additional purpose to keep on your new path of participation without falling off the assignment.
  • Create Supports: Whether or not you have family/friends or a therapist make sure there is someone who helps to keep you centered in the process of continued participation in your passions because sometimes you need someone there to let you know you are doing great.

Here’s to finding your passion fruit and being able to serve it up anyway you want because we are the masters of our own happiness.
