July is National Minority Mental Health Month. Everyone does not have a clinically diagnosed condition. But, our mental health can be affected in many ways. Whether diagnosed or not, being mindful of it is important. Daily responsibilities can sometimes come in the way of this being aware of how you feel and this is the reason for mindful Monday. Today, I want to focus on self-love and positive affirmations.
What are positive affirmations? They are positive statements that can help shift your mindset away from negative thoughts. I’m sure many of you have gone through moments where you doubt yourself and what you can do. You say negative things about how you look. Or even tell yourself that you are not going to get something you have been looking forward to. On this mindful Monday, there shall be no negative thoughts. Only positive affirmations/thoughts over here.
There are so many things we can say to ourselves. There are general statements that can apply to most of us as we go through each day. Here’s a few…
- I am optimistic because today is a new day
- I am loved and worthy
- I am good and getting better
- Asking for help is a sign of self-respect and self-awareness
- Changing my mind is a strength, not a weakness
- I celebrate the good qualities in myself and others
- I make time to experience grief and sadness when necessary
- I strive for joy, not perfection
- My body is beautiful in this moment and at its current size
- Letting go creates space for opportunities to come
- When I forgive myself, I free myself
- There is strength in quiet, there is vulnerability in being loud
- I inhale in peace, and exhale anger
- I create my own version of happiness everyday
- I trust that I will be able to move past all this stress
- I trust that things that are aligned with me will find me
So, on this Monday and the days ahead I hope you choice positive affirmations to help you get through each day. Life is too short to allow negative talk to consume too much of your days. Happy Monday!
