Tomorrow is Christmas Day as well as the start to Chanukah. This time of the year can be the happiest of days if you set that intention. A word often associated with the Christmas Holiday is Joy. It’s defined as a feeling of great pleasure or happiness. So, what’s the holidays without a little fun?! When we gather, we have conversations and catch up on life and current events. But, with larger groups, playing holiday games can make it a joyful experience. It can lighten the mood and make family time a little more exciting. There are many activities to choose from, but below you will find great ways to bring some fun to the gathering.
- Spoon and Ornament Race: Pull out the serving spoons and find a non-shatter ornament. Divide the group into even teams. Create a small obstacle for each group. The first person goes around the obstacle and come back to the team and pass the spoon to the next member. If at any time the ornament drops with the pass that person who just went through the obstacle must repeat it try to pass the spoon once again before moving on.
- Wrapping Gift Game: If you have any left over wrapping paper, you can cut 12″ x12″ sheets for the number of participants. Find any small and irregular shaped items you have and create a 60 seconds or less game to see who can complete (or almost complete) wrapping in the time.
- Finish the Lyrics: Put on your holiday playlist or you can write out the lyrics with the missing word(s).
- Holiday Charades: Test out each other’s acting skills without using your voice. It’s very funny to see everyone at work all while you try to guess the answer.
To end, joy/fun is always a great thing. May your Christmas be filled with Joy and most importantly Love.
