Our bodies tell us a lot. One thing it tells you is when it’s exhausted. There is so much that happens daily in our life. These events require varying levels of energy, and it can deplete you. With “April showers” being gone, lets get rid of the idea of allowing your energy to be depleted. It is now May and the flowers will bloom. We shall make sure we do not forget about ourselves. We must show up for our bodies and make sure we maintain some of our energy to move forward in the days ahead.
The idea of a shutdown is a thing. Removing yourself from overload. This can be done with a power nap, meditation, or just getting more hours of sleep. Taking the time to shut down your body to nurture it is important. I do get decent sleep at night, but between the allergy medicine I require and getting up earlier than I would prefer for work, there are days I must give in. Sometimes I must let go. Trying to fight the exhaustion further is not good. That power nap makes me feel as if I have the energy I need for a full day. The idea of meditation or just closing my eyes from the distractions and just resting feels great. Then, other times it’s just going to sleep a little bit earlier without trying to fight it. The dishes you have could be washed tomorrow. The clean clothes can be put away later. Those television shows will be watched on demand.
The time is now to listen to your body. Flowers can only bloom if we nurture them through water and light. Our body can only be at its best if we take care of it. Let’s move forward in making sure the energy we maintain is enough for us to thrive and be great as the weather gets warmer and we find ourselves busier. Here’s to a great week ahead. May your cup be filled as close to the top as possible.
