What do you think about when you hear the word ‘Fate’?
Some of you believe that fate exists and has a very strong influence over our life. Others believe the opposite. You believe that the general environment and active work determines what happens for us and around us.
According to Merriam-Webster, Fate is defined as the will or principle or determining cause by which things in general are believed to come to be as they are or events to happen as they do.
Have you ever thought the times we are in right now being fate? Do you remember when the COVID-19 pandemic began? How the timing of other pandemics was brought to our attention. It was about 100 years before this time that the Spanish Flu pandemic took place. Then, there were others in the centuries before. Many lives were lost from the viruses, but what came after the loss was chaos. There was the Great Depression and the World Wars after the Spanish flu. To sum it up, there was a house divided and people were strugling. Many of us have expressed our disappointment in the state of the world and more specifically the U.S. right now. You have crime on the rise, the cost of living being too high, and the job pay increasing slowly for the working class. These are all important frustrations.
Have you ever thought that maybe this chaos we see happening is fate. It’s happening to get us back on track to where we need to be. Every generation of people goes through similar events. These lessons may be harsh. But when you look back at everything, do you feel they had a purpose? For better or worse, did they transform us? Have the lessons helped in our decision-making as we move forward as the human race?
After dealing with Election Day yesterday, I’m happy it’s over. I’m not happy about the results, but I see a choice was made. The general population is still learning the lesson. How is it that someone who had an opportunity before and didn’t use it wisely was voted back in after once being voted out. But I believe fate brought us here. Our country, unfortunately, was not ready for Hilary Clinton in 2016. It seems to be the same for Kamala Harris now in 2024. Maybe it’s not time for the change; fate didn’t want it to happen at this point. The people have not learned the lesson yet. A greater change is needed for us to move forward. My only hope is that in the next 4 years, we learn and go in a better direction than we are now.
