Daughter

Posted on May 9, 2025May 8, 2025 by Virtual Afro Woman

A daughter is a female descendent born to a mother. As a daughter you may grow up being a daddy’s girl. But in most cases, it is still the mother who takes on a larger role. Your mother may make the doctor’s appointments. She may be the one who finds the schools to tour for preschool. Also, she may be the one who cooks your meals. As a daughter, you grow up and see how your mother parents. A daughter may not grow up surrounded by her biological mother. But, women in your life early on, who you were not born can teach how to nurture.

I am a daughter, and I am thankful for the parenting done by my mother. I have told her that I am happy she was assigned to me. It’s been a while since I did so, but the actions to show this are visiable. As a daughter, I can remember moments of being an annoying child, but I never felt unloved. As a daughter, I was exposed to great experiences that have helped shaped me. I can say I learned a good deal of things.

I do not have children currently. There is no daughter. But in my role of working with children, being a daughter has affected my job. I have used the nurturing experience I was taught and have used this in my interactions with the children I work with. This has influenced my experience with children in my family now and during my time growing up. I’ve always had a love for children.

As we go into the weekend, it will lead into Mother’s Day. I want every daughter out there to know that being a daughter is the first step in being a great mother if you decide to have one. It is also a step in giving that nurturing spirit off to others, especially young girls in your life. We may not all be lucky to have a biological mother to guide this, but it is important to have that woman in your life who shows you how nurture. Today many more young women are missing out on this experience. More young girls have a wall up and feel as if this is the only way to navigate life. So, on this day let’s honor all of the mother’s out there, But on this day, let us also remember the daughters. These are the future mother’s of the world and in a time of world chaos, let’s not forget this fact.
