August is Black Business Month. There is still a disparities in access to funding for these businesses. As someone who has a small business for the last two years and identifies as Black, I want to do my part. The challenge for this month is to support these businesses not because it’s Black-owned, but because you are an ally of equality in access to resources. Many of us are doing our best to live the American Dream and when their are obstacles it can be discouraging, but in the end we all strive to get a small piece of the pie.
