As women in this world, we are almost always put against each other as if there could only be one and when it comes to us in the Black and Brown communities this is often amplified. We are all beautiful in our own right and we should all love the way God made us. Many times, in our lives we all want something the other has but secretly that other person may want what you have, so how about we just lift each other up and help each other to change this idea that we must be against each other to make it.
So my challenge to you this month is to spread love to the “Mothers of the World” meaning women; give a compliment if you can “I love your shoes,” help out if you can “Let me help you carry your stroller up the steps (a NYC thing)”, and/or share your knowledge with someone “Welcome to the job, make sure you call HR to get your 401K enrollment going.” Our communities have somehow lost some of our togetherness due to various factors, but it is our job to bring back the love and help each other, creating an example for the future generations to follow.
