Today is the last day of June, but also the last day of Black Music Month for the year, so to end this decades battle series, I would like to honor the one and only Usher Raymond. Usher is a musical talent, a dancer, and all around entertainer. Since the age of 14, he has released songs that has taken us on a journey of dating, love, marriage, divorce, and some good old fun to dance and have a good time. Although, he had two great albums in the 1990’s, it was his albums from the 2000s on that gave him superstar status.
In the 2000s, the albums “8701,” “Confessions,” and “Here I Stand” gave us songs such as “U Got It Bad,” “U Don’t Have to Call,” (My personal favorite), “Yeah!” “Burn,” “Confessions (Part II),” “My Boo,” “Love In This Club,” “Moving Mountains,” and “Trading Places.”
In the 2010’s he started of the decade with “Raymond v. Raymond” went into “Looking 4 Myself” and ended with “Hard II Love.” Some of the hits from these ‘Hey Daddy(Daddy’s Home),” “There Goes My Baby,” “OMG,” “DJ Got Us Fallin’ in Love,” “Climax,” “Scream, “Lemme See,” and “No Limit.”
So, like mentioned earlier, Usher is a great entertainer; his Confessions album crossed him over but we have to look at the collection of songs from each decade. If you had to choose between the 2000’s or 2010’s albums as a collection, which would you choose? Let us know below!
