Today is the actual birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. He was a man who had a dream of justice and equality for all in the U.S. Unfortunately, his life was cut short. He didn’t have a chance to see some of what he worked on. It’s almost 60 years since his death and some of his work is still not complete. As an average citizen, we can’t change the laws that need to be adjusted. But, what we can do is change the way we treat others as we navigate this earth. Being a little more empathetic to the issues that one person faces that may not affect you. Today, in honor of his memory of selflessness, how about we spread love with kindness.
Being kind is an act many are losing as we navigate tough times in the world. So, what are some ways you can show a little kindness to others today.
- Give someone a compliment
- Support a local business
- Give someone you love a hug
- Buy someone breakfast/lunch
- Leave a nice note to someone you care about
- Donate to a great cause
- Call someone you haven’t spoken to in awhile
- Buy someone flowers
- Reach to someone in need
- Check on the elderly in your life
Let’s celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Let’s also work on living a life with more love and kindness in 2025.
