Adult Mary Poppins

Posted on November 18, 2024November 17, 2024 by Virtual Afro Woman

There are never enough hours in a day when you have time off from work. But for some reason when you are at work, time stands still. I don’t know if it’s everywhere, but here in the U.S. many of us have our 2 days off from work on Saturdays and Sundays. In this time, you want to have fun but must face the fact that there are responsibilities that include taking care of your home and running errands. Let’s say we all lived in a fantasy world…

What task would you hand over to someone to do for you full time?

I don’t mean handing over a job because this is not the case of becoming rich in this fantasy world. Believe me if I was rich, I’m not working any 9 to 5. I’m talking about having to work and then come home to complete more work. What chore/responsibility would you turn over. This can be driving around, cooking, babysitting, or even organizing your closet. For myself it would be cleaning the house. I don’t mind doing laundry, folding clothes, cooking, and even organizing. I can’t stand dusting and stain cleaning. Many times, I feel like soon as I clean, it accumulates again.

In this fantasy world wouldn’t it also be nice having your choice as a job incentive. As adults who work hard, we deserve to have some fun on the weekend and have our own ‘Mary Poppins’ to handle some of the responsible tasks. When you get off work before having a day off, you’re exhausted. Some days you have enough energy to go out and have fun. Other days, you just want to go home and rest. Factoring responsibilitiess means you can’t just do one or the other. In this season, when many of us will be busy with chores/responsibilities, let’s dream a little bit and maybe one day we can get what we want. It may even be ‘Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious‘
