Imagine working at a job where people get along and care about each other. They celebrate major life-changing events for the people or on the other end the sad moments. If you find that within 1 year, there are about 5 people where money is collected of any amount you can afford to give, what do you do? Do you give because you care and know they deserve it? Do you not give because you feel as if you have nothing to get in return and dislike giving so much? When the time comes for you, would you expect the same or would like someone to show care?
The idea of giving without receiving but reaping what you sow is very powerful. But I do feel as if in the last few years some of that has been lost upon us. The scenario above is not just about the money, it’s about the idea of creating an environment where people show care and concern for each other. You may not be able to always give to those around you. If it can be done 85% of the time, that’s great, but the care never goes unnoticed. Hate is powerful too, but care is even stronger. For the human race to continue to thrive in this world we must continue to recognize this. It is when people stop caring that we have increased conflicts and hatred.
So, it is my hope that people start to care more and support each other, especially the one’s closest to you. To end, when it comes to giving at work, a dollar can go a long way as well in moments when you may not have it. Nothing is too small when you show you care.
