The Rebirth

Posted on April 1, 2024March 31, 2024 by Virtual Afro Woman

On Friday, Beyonce released her county album “Cowboy Carter.” It is part of her Renaissance album series. I listened to the album; there are some hits and some misses for me. But, in the end there is a musical album from a woman whose career is untouchable. This attention to her crossing over into country music is strategic publicity I must say. Whether or not you enjoy this genre of music, you are more likely to listen to the album. The word renaissance is defined as “rebirth.” The overall message I got from her is as follows. IF YOU’RE PASSIONATE ABOUT SOMETHING, TAKE A CHANCE AND SEE ALL THE PLACES YOU’LL GO. This is the time for your creative side to break free.

There are many instances when people fear change. When an outcome is unknown to us, we often stay pull back. If the crazy events of the last few years haven’t motivated you, now is the time. Bring the thought back. The question to be asked is how can you engage in a passion alongside your job and other responsibilities.

  1. Discover: After determining what you would like to take a chance on, start your research. Look up videos, articles or classes. Gather resources. Connect with people who have already started using their creativity.
  2. Determine: Is money needed. How much? If you must save money, determine the total needed and how long you want to give yourself. Maybe more time is needed, pick a day and time to engage. Determine how many hours you need to focus your energy.
  3. Do: No explanation needed. Go ahead and just take that chance.

To end, in creating your own renaissance, you are opening a space for your continued happiness. Life is too short to not give these passions a chance. Push through as best you can and never be afraid to ask for help in the process if needed.
